He has participated in civil search-and-rescue operations in the Mediterranean for the past decade and was among the criminalised Iuventa crew members, facing up to 20 years in prison for preventing deaths at sea. In 2025, he joined the Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza.

He is active in international dockworker solidarity networks and participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza.

Maria Elena Delia
Global Movement to Gaza
Italian activist and spokesperson for the Global Sumud Flotilla in Italy. A founding member of the Free Gaza Movement and former Italian coordinator of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, she has worked in solidarity with Palestine since the early 2000s. She also serves on the board of the Vittorio Arrigoni Foundation and the Flotilla’s Steering Committee.

Palestinian human rights defender and co-founder of Youth of Sumud, a nonviolent resistance movement established in 2017 in the South Hebron Hills. His work supports Palestinian communities facing military and settler violence, defending access to land, education and freedom of movement.
